Massive Meeting, No Tools

Today started off as any normal day with the exception of a major meeting/webinar that was taking place hours before making it to my office. So the story goes:

The week leading up to this meeting I took the time to prepare a tailored PowerPoint presentation to make sure the flow was flawless and all major topics discussed.

Last night I decided to take a few minutes to mentally and verbally rehearse to combat all potential questions prior to the Massive Meeting! All of a sudden my macbook had a critical error and my PowerPoint was deleted. It could not be recovered. Oh my it is getting real and I needed to put my best foot forward. Not freaking out, as I absolutely could have, I focused on my confidence in the product and my readiness to convey its true value verbally.

I set my alarm for 5:30 so I could get up and continue to prepare. I woke up to my airbnb host snoring so loud I couldn't find a quite spot for the call. So I headed to a location comfortable for a webinar and not to loud. I packed my gym clothes to sweat it out after the Massive call to recover, either way the call went, prior to heading into the office. IT WAS GO TIME!!! 7:00am and I am ready and half armed with my PowerPoint but fully armed with my abilities to pull this off without a glitch! The call was an absolute success so much so that when I pulled into the gym with no towel or shaving cream I still smiled and found a way to wash and shave without the tools needed to do the most basic of things.

Message to pull out of the story here is that not having the best tools in the world should not hold you up from finding a way to ultimate success. Don't lose time or energy focusing on the things you can't control. Find a way to succeed with what you do have and own it!
